New Item in Shop
This beautiful piece is a vintage, probably 1940s, cabinet with doors on top and drawers below. It is painted black and has Japanned styling. Not imposing--the piece is about 5 feet tall, and would work well in dining room, bar, or bedroom. It has a great patina that gives it the perfect richness and wear.

Martini Time
These are great looking martini glasses...with frosted etched designs circling the glass. We also have a different size which would be great as a champagne flute. A drink seems to taste better when served in a wonderful glass. We have a nice selection of glasses and decanters to complete your at home bar! And...gift giving season is soon to be upon us.

Rise and Shine
Cake stands or pedestals are quite a fun thing to use for entertaining. Not just for cakes--they can give elevation to a table set up and visually be quite effective. Think about using for cheeses, appetizers, finger sandwiches....and of course desserts like cookies, candies, and cakes. Using multiple pedestals can be very attractive and give a tablescape the variation it needs along with regular plates and serving pieces. Even candles can be attractively grouped on these versatile items. There are a variety of glass ones around. The one in the photo is an exceptional one we have at the shop. Sometimes colored glass or ceramic ones can be found. These could be chosen to coordinate with existing serving pieces. Sometimes, depending on the edge of the plate, a larger plate or charger can be placed on top to increase the serving surface. With the entertaining season soon to arrive......think about cake plates and how you might incorporate them!

Decanters
There are so many beautiful and unusual decanters in the shop....it is hard to pick a favorite. Some are old some are new. The one pictured is a modern twist on the ships decanter. It is vintage, and has a silver plate collar around the neck. The glass is pebbled. Decanters make such a statement when displayed in groups...either with liquor or without. We also have labels to use around the decanters to show what spirit is inside. They add a touch of elegance in silver plate. Sometimes is is difficult to distinquish between certain alcohols...so the labels are funchional as well.

For The Don Draper In Us All
This exceptional piece by John Kapel for Glenn of California features an extendable top for serving or bar use. Just slide the top tray across and center it for extended serving surface. Don Draper would definitely snatch this up!

Was so nice to be included in the Columbus Monthly Home and Garden article on antiques. The shop had this full page photo and another smaller one. It seems people really do read these....as the decanter has sold because of it! Tim Johnson is a great photographer. We are very appreciative to the magazine.
We hope that if you are hunting for a special item...that you will come to us. We try to have good quality, fair prices and unique finds. Let us know what you are looking for and we wil look as well if we don't have it. You may take things on approval as well if you need to see the item in your own setting.

Summer is Picnic Time
Summer is filled with so many happy times getting together with friends and family..either at home or in one of the many beautiful parks the city has to offer. Why not do it in style with a vintage woven picnic basket...leaf patterned placemats in red, and vintage glasses in 2 sizes. A large woven white ceramic candleholder makes a great centerpiece indoors or out. Vintage fan shaped plates are great for tastings or desserts. Votive holders in green...or turquoise and bronze as well. All available this summer in the shop!(
