Remember These?
Snack sets....YES. Vintage and making a comeback. The amber ones, I have had in clear as well as the current amber...and these have the cups, which many don't. The wooden and cork ones are different than any I have seen, and how fun for an outdoor or casual party. The cups probably originally were for coffee or punch, but could easily be replaced with a cocktail glass. The vintage vibe is so fun to incorporate into any decor or party scheme. Try these for your upcoming Spring Fling! Everyone will want a set!

It would seem that SPRING may finally be here! We have lots of new items in the shop for the season. Just did this floral arrangement....LOVE all the colors. There are some really cute small planters in the form or birds and owls...and baskets that make great moss lined planters too! It is so nice when the furnace and air conditioning is off..and the front door can be opened. We had a lot of traffic this past weekend (not so many buyers :( but lookers). Seems a lot of rain will be coming through the end of the month..but maybe not total washouts. COME SEE US!!

Add some VINTAGE to the mix
I'm sorry, but I seem to be unable to post photos onto the blog right now. Please visit our facebook page where there are many photos, etc.
A bit of vintage, antiques, or passed down treasures can add just the right touch to any decor. Sure we want to have a "look" in our homes...but like cooking where the right seasonings and combinations add a dimension and layer of taste... in decorating the addition of unique and/or found items add the right "depth" in decorating. The end result is still a consistant one, but there is interest and a bit of variety. I like to say the result is "not like a truck pulled up out front and unloaded everything from the same store".
Many of the items in the shop are those pieces that can give an existing look some "pop". Perhaps an accent table, a bar piece, a lamp, a mirror.....not major players in the decorating game, but certainly those that make for a winning look.
Of course if you need help achieving the look..or knowing what pieces to add, I can consult with you in your home.
Think about homes you have seen that you really like...pictures in magazines that appeal to you, items that you are attracted to--and then strive to incorporate them into your own personal style.

Wecome, March!!
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I'm glad February is over! Funny how the shortest month is often the least favorite. March brings hope and brightness to our lives, and we know even if there is snow--it can't last too long. March is also a good time to look closely at our homes and see what needs to be freshened up, replaced, or rearranged. We have many suggestions in the store...from small accents to furniture, art and lamps. Gallery hop is next week and hopefully will be a busy one...with the Arnold Fitness Expo in town! There are so many great things going on in Columbus--our wonderful growing city. I know this post is rather disjointed...and I am not able to upload any photos right now. Come see us and have some fun!

Shopping.....is clicking the answer?
Shopping on line is no doubt popular. It can be convenient, entertaining, and a way to find items that may not be close by. It can also be impersonal, disappointing, time consuming, and costly when considering such things as shipping charges. Although there are many proverbial carrots being dangled in front of us on line, sometimes seeing an item and being able to touch or "size it up" in person...has a definite advantage. A shopper knows what he is getting...because he's looked at it...stood by it...touched it...examined it...not to mention probably had a conversation about it with the store employee. It is surely deemed "old fashioned" to criticize on line shopping because it is the way of the world today. However...there are many wonderful brick and mortar stores, shops and boutiques that are loaded with visual experiences ...where a shopper can explore, interact, and make decisions face to face with the items they desire. Granted shopping in pajamas is probably not possible, but... pajamas are for sleeping anyway. It may just be time to wake up.

Post Holiday Decorating
Every year when the holiday decorations come down things look dreary and uninteresting. This can make us depressed and unhappy in our own homes. Sometimes all that is needed is a small addition...like a new pillow, area rug, lamp, or accessory. These are easy and relatively inexpensive fixes that can enhance our moods. Also it may be the perfect time to do some rearranging of furniture. Perhaps what was in the family room goes to the living room...or an item is put away for a while. Moving arwork or adjusting wall groupings can give a fresh look too. Pops of color are good...even natural things like lemons in the kitchen, or fresh flowers on the dining room table. Don't forget lighting. You may need more lighting during the long winter nights--so adding lamps or even candles for atmostphere can make things brighter. We are almost through January but there is still plenty of winter left. Make your home the most comfortable and welcoming it can be to boost your spirits and those of your guesta as well.

Bar Carts
Bar carts are very popular currently in decorating. We see all types of vintage and new pieces used to give a "Mad Men" portable bar feel to home decor. This one is new and is made of chrome and mirror. A very simple design, and a very affordable price of $299.
